A distributor puts your track on streaming platforms. This is the other channel.

Why we're asking

We want more music made by people in this catalogue. We cannot make it ourselves, so we are asking the people who can.

That is the whole reason this page exists. Not a database for your track to sit in. A catalogue we are actively trying to fill.

Label size is not a factor. An independent artist and a catalogue of ten thousand tracks get the same listen. If you represent a label or a distributor, this page is for you too.

Submitting transfers nothing. The rights stay exactly where they are.
No exclusivity
Your music can be anywhere else at the same time, as long as that does not conflict with an agreement you have already signed.

No fee to submit, no fee to be listed, no fee if we take it.
Venue licensing is our job
The paperwork on the venue side is ours to handle. You do not file anything.
How you earn
Venues pay finetunes to play licensed music. Your music earns a share of that pool, proportional to how long it plays across the platform.
You can see your plays
We show you how many times your music has played. We do not name the venues, for their privacy.
Payouts
Monthly, once your balance passes a minimum. We do not publish a rate per play, because it moves with what the pool takes in and what gets played. We would rather tell you that than quote a number that will not hold.

What types of music do you accept?
We're open across genres and styles. If we're actively looking for something specific, we'll say so on our Facebook.
How do I submit my music?
Use the form on this page. It goes straight to the team: a person reads every submission and replies.
Is there a cost to submit?
No. Submitting to finetunes is free.
Will all submitted songs be published?
No. Not every submission is accepted. We listen for two things: whether the recording holds up, and whether the track suits a kind of room we place music in. If it does, it goes into the playlists built for that room.
How is my music selected for playlists?
The team builds the playlists. DJai, our own AI system, helps them match each track to the kind of room it suits.
How are royalties calculated and paid?
Venues pay finetunes, and that money forms a pool. Your share of it is proportional to how long your music played compared with everything else on the platform. Payouts run monthly once your balance passes a minimum.
Do I retain ownership of my music?
Yes. Submitting transfers nothing; the rights stay where they are. There is no exclusivity either.
What if I've assigned my rights to another organization?
You need written permission from whoever holds the rights before you submit, whether that is a collecting society, a publisher or a label. Making sure a submission does not breach an agreement you have already signed is your responsibility.
Can I see where my music is being played?
We keep the venues we work with private, so no names. You can see how many times your music has played. Showing roughly where those plays cluster is something we want to add, but it is not built yet.
What are your submission criteria?
Two things. You control the rights to the track, and the recording holds up on a real sound system in a real room. Both are spelled out above the form. Beyond that there is no checklist: send it and we will listen.

Before you submit

Two things get a submission turned down. Both are easier to check now than to appeal later.

You need to hold the rights

Both of them: mechanical and public performance. If either sits with a collecting society, a publisher or a label, get their written permission first. We cannot take music you do not control.

The recording has to hold up

It will play on a real system, in a room, with people in it. Rough mixes and phone recordings do not survive that.

Most submissions do not make it through. Better you know that now than after you send.
